![]() I'd been looking forward to this trip for 4 long months. I had my unused passport ready and a list of things I was looking forward to doing. This trip would be the best yet! After stopping in four airports we finally landed in Grand Bahama International airport, a very small but efficient airport. Once we landed we were whisked away in a limo complete with a driver/tour guide. He told us everything we didn't know about Freeport Bahamas. What an amazing place full of beauty, history and culture. Once we checked into our rooms at the Memories Grand Bahama Beach Resort and dropped off our bags we immediately went out to see the aquamarine water that we could see from our plane. Stunning. That's all I could say. After hours of flying this is exactly what I was hoping for.

A few weeks ago we were guest at the Content Magazine Pick Up Party for issue 8.1 Sight and Sound. It was an honor to be invited to the party AND included in the issue. This is how it came about. While we were working at SJMade Pop Up Market outside Whole Foods (The Alameda) a very nice woman and her husband sampled some of our coffee and asked the team members at our table (Chris, Brandon and Greg) how we started in the coffee roasting business. We told them an abbreviated version of our story. They seemed interested and wanted to know more. The husband, Dan, told us that he is the publisher for Content Magazine, a very cool Silicon Valley magazine that features businesses in and around the Silicon Valley, he invited us to their upcoming Pick Up Party for issue 8.0 Explore, unfortunately we weren't able to attend and we assumed that we wouldn't hear from them again. A few weeks later we got an email from the editor, Flora asking us if we would be interested in being interviewed for an upcoming issue! YES, YES and YES again! We scheduled an interview date and met her at our roastery. We were all pretty excited and a bit nervous about the interview since it was the first company interview we've had. Flora made us feel relaxed, the interview was very much like a casual conversation. We had a great time talking with Flora and Stan the photographer. Once the interview was over and Stan finished taking pictures we hung around for quite a while talking about coffee, traveling and what's happening around San Jose. A few weeks later we found out that our article would run in the very next issue. The excitement started all over again!
The day of the party arrived pretty fast after that. We got to the venue, Aura Kitchen and Bar in downtown San Jose, checked in and we each got a copy of the publication. The look of the magazine was upscale and the articles matched the look! After quickly looking through the magazine and seeing all of the interesting articles we found the picture of our group with the headline "Enjoy Your Weekend Coffee Roasters"! The article was very well written and gave us the boost we needed! The party was very nice, there were really talented bands playing, including two that stood out: Q and A and Chris Reed. We met some very cool people including artist Terry Thomas who is also in this issue (his amazing artwork was hanging on the walls at Aura). All in all we had a great time meeting other business owners, talking to people who subscribe to the publication and listening to good music. Pics below! Read the article here! Thank you Content for including us in your magazine! |
