Brewing Measurements and Methods

Since coffee strength is a personal preference the instructions below are for medium strength (coffee measurements may need to be adjusted according to your preference). Want it stronger? Use more ground coffee. Other than freshly roasted and ground coffee there are a few other important factors that contribute to a great cup of coffee:
  1. Coffee Grind (fine, medium, coarse)
  2. Water (filtered or bottled is best)
  3. Water temperature (Desired temperature for brewing coffee is between 195° F - 205° F for optimal flavor extraction).
  4. Brewing method (pour-over, automatic drip, French Press, etc.).
Note: Coffee grounds should not be disposed of in sinks or garbage disposals. Please dispose of used grounds in compost bins or in the garbage.

Pour-Over (Drip)

Measurements:
Coffee - About 2 Tablespoons or 1 coffee scoop freshly ground coffee beans (Adjust the coffee to your preferred strength). Water - 10 oz. filtered or bottled
Grind settings: Medium coarse
Makes: 10 oz.
Time: 3 to 4 minutes
Directions:
  1. Pour enough boiled water over your paper filter to wet the filter thoroughly. Let the water drain completely, pour out the excess water captured in your cup (this preheats the filter and the cup).
  2. Pour your ground beans into the wet filter (gently shake to even out).
  3. Begin pouring the boiled water onto the grounds to saturate (starting in the center). Stop pouring once the grounds are saturated.
  4. Once the coffee begins dripping into the cup resume pouring in a spiral motion. Keep the water level in the filter around 3/4 full. Stop pouring when needed and repeat.
  5. Enjoy your delicious coffee!
